please note some of the games in this image are no longer playable on mobile platforms

Disney mobile games! There’s a ton of them and more coming out all the time! Far too many for one guy to keep up with on his own, but still, I feel though I have touched on them previously in this blog, I’m doing a big disservice but not talking about them regularly, having something dedicated to them. Mobile games are just as valid as console games. People work hard on them, some are quality stuff, some are decidedly not. Really just like those “real” video games you’re playing on your big TV right now.

Between the core Disney stuff, Star Wars, Marvel, and a couple of other random things, there’s almost always something worth talking about in the mobile space as far as Disney goes. So this monthly column will be a space to talk about the mobile world of Disney. Sometimes it will be a review of a new app or maybe something that’s been out for a while that I’m trying for the first time (the thing about mobile games is since they are constantly being updated, as long as they are active it can be interesting to see how they are supported down the road). Maybe it’ll just be about a topic based on something I’m currently playing (currently playing a lot of Disney Heroes Battle Mode, Disney Sorceror’s Arena and just a little bit of Kingdom Hearts Union X right now, have not tried Dark Road just yet want to get some more experience in the core game before I try the new thing), it might be about some big news that’s happening in the mobile space (it would have to be directly related to Disney apps though to fit here). So this will be a space for all things mobile that are Disney. It might even occasionally cover apps that aren’t necessarily gaming related, but that will definitely only be if I feel like I have something specific to say and this would be a good spot for it.

I should note I do not have a particularly powerful phone, it’s a good phone for what it is, fits my needs and whatnot. But it’s not the latest iPhone or Samsung model or whatever. It’s a sub-$200 Motorola thing I can play some games on, watch videos and spend way too much time on Twitter with. So I may not be able to try the latest and greatest. If I really get into it, maybe I will invest in a much better phone, but that would probably be well into next year at the earliest (i.e. if I have enough money for a better phone or a PlayStation 5/Xbox Series X, I’m going with the console).

So that’s really all this first column is, a commitment to check in on the Disney mobile scene once a month in some form (though be assured I’m playing way more often than that, usually at least once every other day) and talk about it because it deserves that. So next month I’ll have something more specific to talk about in regards to mobile, but in the meantime, see ya real soon!
